What is Flashback, and how does OpenDNS protect me?
The Internet is abuzz with news about Flashback, because until very recently it was commonly believed that Macs are largely immune to malware and attacks. Some reported numbers about infections are as high as 600,000, with a reported 56% of those infections on U.S. soil. Flashback was first discovered in September of last year, when it was designed to look like a Adobe Flash update (hence its name). But as of this month, it’s now infecting users that visit compromised websites. Once infected, the malware will attempt to connect to a server for command and control. Flashback has a built-in algorithm, which calculates the domain for C&C.
I suggest you seriously consider taking a daily nap for the following five reasons:
A nap restores alertness.The National Sleep Foundation recommends a short nap of 20–30 minutes “for improved alertness and performance without leaving you feeling groggy or interfering with nighttime sleep.”
A nap prevents burnout. In our always-on culture, we go, go, go. However, we were not meant to race without rest. Doing so leads to stress, frustration, and burnout. Taking a nap is like a system reboot. It relieves stress and gives you a fresh start.
A nap heightens sensory perception. According to Dr. Sandra C. Mednick, author of Take a Nap, Change Your Life, napping can restore the sensitivity of sight, hearing, and taste. Napping also improves your creativity by relaxing your mind and allowing new associations to form in it.
Reduces the risk of heart disease. Did you know those who take a midday siesta at least three times a week are 37 percent less likely to die of heart disease? Working men are 64 percent less likely! It’s true, according to a 2007 study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. Dimitrios Trichopoulos, of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, who led the study said, “Taking a nap could turn out to be an important weapon in the fight against coronary mortality.”
Makes you more productive. Numerous medical studies have shown workers becoming increasingly unproductive as the day wears on. But a 2002 Harvard University study demonstrated a 30-minute nap boosted the performance of workers, returning their productivity to beginning-of-the-day levels.
YouTube, Google’s monster video publishing platform, is giving away up to $50 million to entice small-business owners to sign up for a video advertising service it announced today. Called Google AdWords for video, YouTube says the service will more or less replicate features from Google’s AdWords for search — such as pay-per-click and setting budgets with bids — for video advertising.
Businesses can receive a $75 credit when they sign up for AdWords for video, YouTube says.
“We want to democratize access to video advertising for small businesses that have smaller ad budgets, and to make it easier for advertisers to see the value, to see exactly how many people are engaging with their ad,” says Baljeet Singh, YouTube’s group product manager.
Second developer preview of Renderable elements for Drupal 7 – see it in action together with Field group and Display suite acting on node, contact, webform and views exposed forms.
WOW! This is awesome.
Should make creating easy to use User Interfaces super simple. Arrange your nodes, views, comments, user data etc. the way you want without having to work your way through dozens of template files.
The alt attribute can be a huge help to the disabled, because this is how they know what is in an image. So, use the title attribute to write something snappy about the image, and use the alt attribute to describe it. Sticking with our umbrella example, the incorrect way to do this would be:
<imgtitle="Awesome umbrella"src="awesomeumbrella.jpg"alt="The most awesome umbrella ever">
And the correct way would be:
<imgtitle="Awesome umbrella"src="awesomeubrella.jpg"alt="A matte black cane umbrella with a spruce handle and a chrome tip">
Remember, the alt attribute is descriptive not only for the visually impaired, but for Google as well. Your website might even rank better if it’s image-heavy.
